Elaine Prendergast-Paulson, MSW, CYT, Director
Elaine began her practice of yoga in the Kripalu tradition in 1990. She was certified to teach in 2000, and has continued study with Joan White, Senior Iyengar teacher, since 2002. In 2005, she was certified by Elise Browning Miller to teach Yoga for Scoliosis. In addition to a weekly back care class, she provides individual assessments and posture sequences for those with scoliosis and other postural issues. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who utilizes yoga as a metaphor for healing life's issues.
Paula Ryan, MSW, E-RYT 500, Director
Paula has practiced and taught Hatha Yoga and Meditation since 1972. She taught yoga and was on staff at the Himalayan Institute Center for Holistic Medicine in Buffalo, NY. Paula is certified as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 (E-RYT) since December 2002, and is influenced by the Himalayan Institute tradition. She has also studied with Joan White in the Iyengar tradition and is also enjoying the Ana Forrest style of teaching.
Paula strongly believes in the body-mind connection. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and holds an MSW in social work since 1991. Since 2008 she has been studying Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) as developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, based on a scientific understanding of attachment and love and their central importance in human life. She has an advanced certification for Heart Centered Hypnotherapy, with Diane Zimberoff, LCSW. A breast cancer survivor since 2000, she teaches yoga workshops for other survivors. Paula has a private psychotherapy practice in Merchantville, NJ.
Sheila McCool, RYT
Sheila's passion for yoga began in 1994. She was certified as a Registered Yoga Teacher in 2004, and is influenced by the Kripalu tradition, which speaks to the heart then flows out to work the body. In her All Levels class she invites students to find the rhythm and flow in their own bodies and integrate these into postures which relax and strengthen the body, release chronic tension, and increase self-awareness.
Janice Wilson-Stridick, CYT
Certified to teach yoga in 2000, Janice guides students to access their own vitality through mindful breath and movement. Her classes feature centering mediation, chakra balancing, and longer-held postures to develop concentration, balance, and strength. Her workshops on The Yoga of Writing, Balancing the Chakras, and The Artist's Way have drawn students from throughout the Delaware Valley.
Susan Rossi
Susan has been a shamanic practitioner since 1992. She has studied with Beautiful Painted Arrow, who teaches the healing principles of chanting and sound. She has also studied with Ipupiara, a shaman in the tradition of the Brazilian rainforest, and with his wife, Cleicha, an Andean plant shaman. She has taken trainings with Foundation for Shamanic Studies teachers and practitioners including Soul Retrieval; Healing with Spiritual Light; Shamanism and Cancer; and Shamanic Dreampath. Susan is a Reiki master and practitioner, yoga teacher, and meditator. She believes that as energy beings, each one of us has the potential to raise the vibration of the world around us by how we live our lives.
Anna Trezzi, RYT
Anna was certified to teach in 2005 and is registered with Yoga Alliance. She holds a B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance and was a dancer for 25 years. Anna's instruction is informed by a strong background in anatomy and physiology. Extensive training with a life guru has inspired her to teach the life-changing benefits of yoga. Integrating elements of Anusara Yoga, Anna supports the learner in celebrating the harmony of heart, mind, and body by aligning with the flow of grace.
Carol Shepard, BS, RYT
Ely Ryan, Lifelong Student & Practitioner of Meditation
Ely is an initiate in the practice of meditation within the Himalayan tradition as being taught by HH Swami Rama, Pundit Rajmani Tigunait, and Swami Jaidev Bharati (Justin O'Brien, Ph.D.). Ely has been a serious meditation practitioner for the past 8 years.
